Stuff featured from my personal collection

Newbies

Yes, it's been a while ... I know it because Ricky and others tease me about it all the time. It's been probably one of the most hectic periods in my life, but lately it's been pretty pretty productive as well collecting wise. In fact, I was lucky enough to pick up what I would consider personal "best ofs" in several different collecting categories, most of which in the last couple of months (thanks to those who traded with or sold me items). Tried to include something for everyone and lots of different colors.

I'm not really a "check out pictures of my house guy" but since the new house pretty much took me out of collecting for six months figured I should put a reminder to myself of why we did it. With that said, check out some of the views. We butt up next to Cleveland National forest and have a Nicklaus-designed golf course wrapping around the house. Tough course!

Traded my Bull Pup glove back to Mr. Bulldog, but ended up getting another bull pup. This one is soft and smooth but has a bit of a bight! Not sure that puppies and gloves are a good mix but so far so good (knock on wood).

OK, so I've fought off the urge for years to obtain a Spalding trophy. In fact, part of the reason I have just about every other kind (exaggeration) is that I've been battling the urge, and then the tractor beam pulled me in. Picked up my favorite of the bunch -- the baseman -- for a decent price and then went a little nutty picking up four of the five within six months. Because I'm a darn list completer I'm looking to trade for the last one, the catcher.

Really dove head-first into football display items, especially helmets, and finally was able to trackdown an assortment of flat top helmets (still looking for a couple more unique older helmets). Also put together a football display of mostly Stall & Dean items (infamous Bulldog mannequin scares Michelle and the dogs). Speaking of Stall & Dean, I picked up a very unique older Stall & Dean uniform crate. Rounded out my displays with a couple beauty lemon peel and trophy baseballs.

You guys can debate the first glove whether or not it is a ww (or whether there is such a thing) but I think it is. The pictures don't do this one justice. I actually got the first two gloves from the same person and just love them.

Yes, went a little crescent crazy as well this period, picking up the three mitts from the same guy. The two catchers mitts are just huge tanks and I love the narrow look of the basemitt.

After the dust settled, it seemed like I went on a bit of a label run picking up several tough labels on great gloves. The label part of it was unconscious, but now that I have them back off Robbie. The Diamond may be the nicest 1" web I've ever owned (pricey, though). Check out the great color contrast. And that Debeer (prounonced "Da Bears") is one of my all-time favorite full webs. Love those bomber-jacket-brown gloves.

That's enough for now, maybe I'll add comments for some of the others later.
